for all of those who insist a woman cannot or should not find empowerment in reclaiming the word ‘slut’ i say to you that people used to make the same grand statements about the words ‘queer’ and ‘dyke’. now we have queer pride parades and dyke marches. because many people find reclaiming those words empowering. and many of us also find reclaiming ‘slut’ empowering and it is no one’s place to tell us whether or not we are allowed to find empowerment in that.
